Salah’s nomination is no surprise as the Liverpool forward had a spectacular season.
Salah brought Liverpool to the UEFA Champions League final for the first time since the 2006-07 season, where they lost to Real Madrid. He was also crowned as the Premier League’s top scorer and managed to swoop most of the season’s awards such as the PFA Player of the Year (2018), BBC’s African Footballer of the year (2017), and the Premier League Golden Boot.
