Washington DC Event | Fourth Annual Merkato Charity Artisan Fair
We are thrilled to host the Fourth Merkato Artisan Charity Event where 12 local and international African designers and artisans will showcase their work, while at the same time contribute their table fees to the selected charity organization. This year's recipient is Berhan Yehun, an Ethiopian charity organization working with children in need in Addis Ababa's Qore area. Kwanzaa Celebration with Melvin Deal African Heritage Dancers & Drummers
Celebrate Kwanzaa with a lively performance by Mevlin Deal African Heritage Drummers and Dancers (pictured). Melvin Deal is the Founding Executive Artistic Director of the African Heritage Dancers and Drummers and has worked tirelessly in addressing issues of violence, delinquency and dysfunctional lifestyles and abuse in African-American communities. A graduate of Howard University, Deal is an accomplished dancer, musician, choreographer, researcher, and arts educator.
